Hotel Management JEE on April, 28

 National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology (NCHMCT) is an autonomous body under Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, has invited applications for admission to the Three-Year (Six Semester) B.Sc. Hospitality & Hotel Administration Programme offered jointly by it and the Indira Gandhi National Open University, in Central Government Institute of Hotel Management, State Government Institute of Hotel Management and Private Institute of Hotel Management, for the year 2012-13
Eligibility: Applicant should have passed the 10+2 system of Senior Secondary examination or its equivalent (listed below) with English as one of the subjects. Candidate must have passed English as a subject of study (core/elective/functional) in the qualifying examination. Those appearing in 10+2 or equivalent examination can also appear in JEE 2012 on provisional basis. Provisional admission will stand cancelled if proof of having passed the qualifying examination (10+2 or its equivalent) is not submitted at the time of counselling or at the time of admission or latest by 30-09-2012.
Qualifying Examinations for Indian Students
(i) Plus two level examination in the 10+2 pattern of Senior Secondary education of any recognized Central/State Board, such as Central Board of Secondary Education and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination or State Boards of Secondary Education
(ii) Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/University
(iii) General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level
(iv) High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University
(v) Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in a foreign country recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 pattern of Senior Secondary education
(vi) H.S.C. Vocational Examination
(vii) Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects including English as one of the Subjects.
Age: For those from General and OBC categories, the upper age limit is 22 years as on 01.07.2012. Candidates born on or after July 01, 1990 are eligible. In the case of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates, upper age limit is 25 years as on 01.07.2012. That is SC/ST candidates born on or after July 01, 1987 are eligible. Upper age limit for Physically Challenged candidates shall be reckoned as per the category he/she belongs to.
Fitness: All qualified candidates will have to submit a physical fitness certificate at the time of admission from a Registered Medical Practitioner in the prescribed format given at Appendix -I of the Information Brochure.
Reservation: Seats are reserved for SC and ST categories (15% and 7.5% respectively) in Central and State Government Institutes of Hotel Management. 27% seats are reserved for candidates belonging to OBC (Non creamy layer) category in Central Institutes of Hotel Management. Those belonging to the creamy layer of OBC are NOT entitled for reservation. 3% of seats in every category are reserved for Physically Disabled candidates in all Central & State Government Institutes of Hotel Management. Selection Process: Selection to the Programme will be based on an All India Entrance Examination, the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), to be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m on 28th April, 2012 (Saturday) at Ahmedabad (Code 51),  Bangaluru (52) Bhopal (53) Bhubaneswar (54) Chandigarh (55) Chennai (56) Delhi (57) Dehradun (58) Gangtok (59) Goa (60) Gurdaspur (61) Guwahati (62) Gwalior (63) Hyderabad (64) Jammu (65) Jabalpur (66) Jaipur (67) Jamshedpur (68), Kochi (69), Kolkata (70), Lucknow (71), Madurai (72) Mumbai (73) Nagpur (74) Patna (75) Puducherry (76) Pune (77) Raipur (78) Shimla (79) Siliguri (80) Srinagar (81) Thiruvananthapuram (82) Varanasi (83).
Entrance Examination: The Examination will have objective type questions from 5 areas- (i) Numerical Ability and Scientific Aptitude (30 Questions) (ii) Reasoning and Logical Deduction (30) (iii) General Knowledge & Current Affairs (30) (iv) English Language (60) and (v) Aptitude for Service Sector (50). Question Paper will be bilingual i.e. in English and Hindi (except for English Language component). Each correct answer under Numerical Ability & Scientific Aptitude, Reasoning & Logical Deduction, General Knowledge & Current Affairs and English Language component carry one mark. For any wrong answer 0.25 marks will be deducted. Graded mark(s) will be awarded under Aptitude for Service Sector component i.e. 0.25, 0.5, 0.75 & 1.00. The most appropriate answer carries one mark.
Merit list: All India merit list of candidates shall be prepared on the basis of marks secured in the JEE Written Test. In case candidates secure equal marks, the candidate securing higher marks in English component of JEE will be ranked higher. In case of candidates securing equal marks in JEE, as well as in English component of JEE, then the candidate securing higher marks in Service Aptitude Component of JEE shall rank higher. In case of tie even after these two stages, the candidate older in age will be ranked higher.
Application form: Sale of Application Form and Information Brochure will commence on 5th December, 2011 from affiliated Institutes, as per the list given athttp://www.nchmct.org/ and from selected branches of bank, details of which will also be given at www.nchmct.org  Candidates may also apply on-line till 9th April, 2011, atwww.nchmct.org as per the instructions there. The print out of the filled online JEE 2012 Application Form with auto-generated Application No. with photograph of applicant affixed and duly signed should reach JEE Cell, National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology, A-34, Institutional Area, Sector-62, Noida, Uttar Pradesh-201309,by 13th April 2012 (Friday).
Admit Card: Admit Cards will be available at the website from 2 pm on 19th April 2012. Result of JEE will be put on website in the 2nd week of May, 2012. Counselling will be conducted in the 1st week of June, 2012. Academic Session will commence on 1st August, 2012.
Admission to first year of B.Sc. Hospitality & Hotel Administration Programme will be strictly based on the All India Rank earned by the candidate. Ranks are strictly based on the marks obtained by the candidate in written examination. No group discussion or interviews are involved. Counselling involves checking of eligibility of candidates, verification of documents, depositing of counselling and other fee and opportunity for choice of Institutes as available at the time of his/her ranking. Candidates should give as many choices after careful evaluation of Institutes based on information available in their respective websites. Allotment of Institute shall be as per merit and choice of Institute exercised by the candidate.
