Professional Courses of AWES

Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) has notified the dates for the Written Admission Test (WAT) for admission to the various Programmes in the Institutions under it, for 2011-12. The Programmes include B.Ed, BDS, MDS, B.Sc Nursing, MBBS, Bachelor of Hotel Management, PG Diploma in Fashion Design, PG Diploma in Apparel Merchandising & Logistics Management, B.Sc (Fashion and Apparel Design).

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS: In order to apply for admission, the applicant must fall into one of the following categories:
(a) Wards of serving Army personnel with minimum 10 years continuous service in the Army
(b) Wards of ex Army personnel granted/ awarded regular pension, liberalized family pension, family pension or disability pension at the time of their superannuation, demise, discharge, release medical board/ invalided medical board. This includes wards of recruits medically boarded out and granted disability pension
(c) Wards of ex Army personnel who have taken discharge/release after ten years of service
(d) Adopted /Step Children and Children of Remarried Widows: (i) Adopted Child of Army personnel who completed 10 years service, adopted at least five years prior to seeking admission. (ii) Step Children are eligible provided they are born out of a wedding where at least one parent belonged to the Army and completed 10 years service. (iii) Children of Widows of Army personnel who are born as a result of second marriage with Army personnel. However, children of widows of Army personnel born out of remarriage with Non-Army personnel would not be eligible for admission.
(e) Eligibility Criteria in Special Cases: Eligibility Criteria for Wards of Ex Army Medical Corps Officers/Army Dental Corps Officers Presently Serving with IN/IAF. Wards of only those ex Army medical officers /Army Dental Corps officers, presently serving with Indian Navy or Indian Air Force who have served with the Army for 10 years, are eligible.
(f) Eligibility Criteria for Children of APS Personnel: (i) Children of APS personnel classified as Ex-servicemen as per Govt of India, Ministry of Defence letter No 9 (52)/88/D(Res) dated 19th July, 89. (ii) Children of those APS personnel who are on deputation and who have put in 10 years of service in the Army. (iii) Children of APS personnel, who are directly recruited into APS who have competed 10 years of service and of those who as per their terms and conditions of service, retired from APS without reversion to P&T Department after completing their minimum pensionable service of which 10 years was in the Army.
(7) Eligibility Criteria for Children of MNS/TA Personnel: (i) Children of only those members of MNS who have 10 years service as regular Army MNS Officer or are in receipt of pension from the Army (ii)Children of only those TA personnel who have completed 10 years of embodied service.

7.MBBS

General Guidelines: To obtain Prospectus & Application Form, Bank Draft for the specified amount may be taken in favour of concerned Institution, payable at station where institution is located and sent directly to the Institution. Application form can also be downloaded from website of the institute. Prospectus also available at HQ AWES and HQs Command (AWES Cell) through DD only, in favour of institute concerned. Filled Application can be submitted only by Hand or by Post.
Final year candidates may appear provisionally. Sale of Application has commenced. Last Date of Receipt of filled Application is 15th March, 2011. It is 30th March, 2011, with late fee.
For ACDS PG, the last date is 15th February, 2011 without late fee and 20th February, 2011 with late fee. Last date for AIFD PG is 15th May, 2011. It will be accepted till 31st May 2011 with late fee.
However, AIT Application Form will be open for sale from 10th February 2011 to 15th May 2011. Last date for submission of completed AIT Application Form is 15th May 2011. After that AIT forms can be submitted along with a late fee of Rs 500/- till 25th May 2011.
