KERALA MCA ADMISSION 2011


Applications are invited for the Entrance Examination for admission to Master of Computer 
Applications (MCA) Course in Kerala in the AICTE approved institutions for the academic 
year 2011-12. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 
    (a)  Nativity: Candidate should be an Indian citizen 
(b)  Academic Eligibility:  

 (i) Colleges affiliated to MAHATMA GANDHI UNIVERSITY and KANNUR UNIVERSITY  
 A pass in any recognized regular Bachelor’s Degree course of minimum three years duration
in any discipline with Mathematics at 10+2 level.
OR
A pass in any recognized Regular Bachelors Degree course of minimum three years duration
in any discipline with Mathematics/Statistics as one of the Subjects
OR
 A pass in BCA Degree of minimum three years duration from a recognized University

(ii) Colleges affiliated to UNIVERSITY of KERALA
Candidates should have passed Bachelors Degree of minimum three years duration after 10+2
level with a minimum of 50% marks in the subject component(s) in any discipline with
Mathematics/Statistics/ Computer Science/ Computer Application/ Engineering and Technology
as a Main/ Subsidiary/ Core subject.

   (iii) Colleges affiliated to UNIVERSITY of CALICUT
Bachelors Degree in any discipline of 3 year duration with mathematics (this does not include
Business     Mathematics or Business Statistics) as one of the subjects with at least 50% marks
scored in mathematics and the course undergone under the regular programme recognized by
the Calicut  University. 5% of relaxation in marks will be allowed in the case of SEBC
candidates and for SC/ST candidates pass in examination is required.
Candidates who are appearing / have appeared for the qualifying examination this year
are also eligible to      apply for the Entrance Examination subject to the condition that
the entire mark list of the qualifying examination shall be produced by the candidate at
the time of admission.

Reservation of Seats:-
a) Person with Disabilities:-3% of seats available to the State for Online allotment from the
rank list are reserved for the candidates with disabilities.

b) Mandatory Reservation:- Seats are reserved for SC/St and SEBC candidates as per
existing Reservation principles.

4. Entrance Examination:  The Entrance Examination will be conducted at  Thiruvananthapuram,
Ernakulam and Kozhikode on 13.08.2011(Saturday). It will be of 2 hours duration and will consist
of 150 Objective Type Questions covering the following areas of study at graduate level.
         (a) Mathematics (b) Statistics (c) Physics (d) Chemistry (e) General Knowledge
         (f) General English and  (g) Fundamentals of Computer Awareness.


How and When to Apply:  Candidates seeking admission the course can apply online through the
website  www.cee-kerala.org of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations. There will be
separate link for General, SEBC and SC/St candidates.  The site will be opened for online
registration from 18.07.2011 to 01.08 .2011, 5 p.m.

   Application Fee:   For General candidates, the Application Fee is Rs.800/- (Rupees Eight hundred
only) and for SC/ST candidates the application fee is Rs. 400/- (rupees Four hundred only).  The
required fee can be remitted at any branch of the State Bank of Travancore using the Bank Chalan
which is available in the print out of Online Application.  The original chalan should be attached with
the print out of the application duly signed and authorized and signed by the Bank authorities on
remittance of application fees. Candidates outside Kerala can remit the application fee by attaching
a Demand Draft for the requisite amount drawn on a Nationalized Bank in favour of the
Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, payable at Thiruvananthapuram.

    Last date and time for receipt of filled-in application forms:  Candidates seeking admission
should take the printout of the application after entering the details online an affix a passport size
photograph same as the one which is uploaded, in the space provided.  The photograph should be
attested by the candidate and forward the application with all the required documents to the
Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Housing Board Buildings, 5th Floor, Santhinagar,
Thiruvananthapuram – 695 001, either by Registered post or by hand delivery on or before
01.08.2011, 5 p.m.

Self-Financing M.Sc Courses at Calicut Varsity

Applications have been invited from eligible candidates for admission to the following Post-Graduate courses under Cost-based scheme (Self-Financing) during the Academic Year 2011-2012 offered at the School of Health Sciences, Calicut University Campus.

Med Entrance Data Sheet available online

The Mark Data Sheet of candidates who have qualified in the Medical Entrance Examination 2011 (KEAM-2011) is available online and can be downloaded from the website http://www.cee.kerala.gov.in/ from 21.07.2011 onwards, said the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations (CEE). Qualified candidates may enter their Roll Number and Date of Birth on the webpage for downloading the Mark Data Sheet.

The Mark Data Sheet thus obtained will have to be produced at the time of admission. Mark Data Sheet will not be sent by post from the CEE's office to the candidates.

Those candidates disqualified in the Medical Entrance Examination 2011 will not be able to download Mark Data Sheets. More information can be had from the following helpline numbers : 0471- 2339101, 2339102, 2339103, 2339104.

A candidate will be eligible for Admission to Post-Graduate Courses if he/she has completed B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. with 10+2+3 system from any University recognized by University Grants Commission and has secured a minimum 45% of marks at graduate level. However for SC/ST candidates minimum pass percentage of marks will be 40%.
The admission to the Post-Graduate Courses in the faculties of Arts, Science, Commerce and Education shall be on the basis of merit of marks obtained in the Graduation/Qualifying Examination.

     Bank will also provide with a unique code number called the Journal Number.

PhD/MSc (Engineering) Admission at Kerala University

Applications have been invited in the prescribed form, from eligible candidates for registration for Full time / Part time research, leading to PhD / MSc (Engineering) by research degree of the Kerala University, for the July 2011 session, subject to availability of vacancies.

Eligibility:
A. Candidates to be considered eligible to apply for registration for PhD research should have:
i. Masters degree or its equivalent with not less than 55% marks
ii. Qualified in the Entrance Test conducted by Kerala University or National Eligibility Test conducted by the UGC / CSIR / ICAR / ICMR or GATE or State Level Eligibility Test conducted by the Kerala Government or Fellowship awarded by the KSCSTE or MPhil degree by research and thesis.

B. For MSc (Engineering by research), the candidate should have
i. Bachelors Degree holders in Engineering with not less than 55% marks
ii. Qualified in the GATE or Entrance Test conducted by Kerala University or State Level Eligibility Test conducted by the Kerala Government.

Relaxation of marks:
Candidates who have got a minimum of ten years of teaching experience at a College or University are eligible for a relaxation of 5% marks. However, in no cases a candidate is having less than 50% marks be granted registration.

Notwithstanding the above candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes who have secured 45% marks in Science subjects and 40% marks in Arts and Commerce subjects can apply for registration for PhD research, provided they satisfy the other eligibility requirements stipulated in this notification. Physically / visually challenged candidates are eligible for a relaxation of 5% marks for registration for research leading to PhD Degree.

Exemption from entrance test:
i. College / University teachers with seven or more years of teaching experience and candidates with DM / MCh Degree are exempted from the Entrance Test.
ii. Scientists / Engineers working in approved Research Laboratories either owned or managed by the Central / State Government or in Autonomous Research
Institutions of National Status, with seven years experience in the Grade Scientist / Engineer having two research papers published in the recognised research journals of the concerned subject approved by the Board of Studies concerned, are exempted from the PhD Entrance Test.
iii. Candidates with DBT-JRF are exempted from the PhD Entrance Test and they are permitted to register for research leading to PhD Degree in Biotechnology.
iv. Scientists / Ayurveda Doctors working in Pharmaceuticals / Hospitals / Research Centres owned by Government with 7 years experience and having 2 research papers published are exempted from the PhD Entrance Test.

Part-time registration:
Part-time PhD registration shall be restricted to regular / permanent teachers in the concerned subjects, of the Departments and affiliated Colleges of the University of Kerala.
Part-time registration is also extended to teachers who are working in substantive vacancies in Government and Aided Colleges in the State of Kerala. However, the facility of part-time PhD registration (1) in Library and Information Science is also extended to those who are working as Library Staff in the University of Kerala on regular basis with a minimum of 3 years experience, if all other conditions are satisfied and (2) in Management Studies is extended to those working in managerial position with a minimum of 3 years experience in Government and Public Sector undertakings, provided all other conditions are satisfied.

Applications for part-time registration should be accompanied by a No Objection Certificate from the appointing authority and stating that they are appointed on a regular basis in the College / Department.

EligibilityCandidates should have passed BA / B.Sc degree exams under the 10+2+3 pattern with one main subject and two subsidiary subjects from M G University or any other university recognized by M G University as equivalent thereto for admission, subject to the stipulation regarding marks.The minimum requirement for admission to B.Ed course is 50% marks in Bachelor’s degree (Science/Arts subjects) in Part III.
However the eligibility of candidates who have passed degree examination in double/triple main, Model II vocational and other specialized subjects/streams will be governed by rules and regulations of MG university. In the case of candidates who have passed examinations of other Universities, they will be admitted only if these examinations have been declared equivalent to the qualifying examinations of MG University.
Candidates seeking admission on the basis of the language under Part I & II need 50% marks for the part concerned and 50% for Post Graduate course in the same language. Candidates applying for the course under the language stream with a bachelor’s degree in the subject concerned will be ranked first in that particular stream. Candidates applying for the course under any language stream based on Part I / Part II at under graduate level and having PG Degree in the same subject as in Part I / Part II will be ranked only after that.
