1. CANDIDATES TO ENSURE THEIR ELIGIBILITY FOR THE EXAMINATION:

2. HOW TO APPLY:

(b) Candidates may also apply Offline in the Common Application Form devised by
the Commission for its examinations, which can be purchased from the designated
Head Post Offices/Post Offices (specified in Appendix III of the Notice) throughout the
country against cash payment of Rs. 30/- (Rupees Thirty only). Each such Form can
be used only once and only for one examination.
In case of any difficulty in obtaining Application Forms from the designated HPOs/
POs, the candidates should immediately contact the concerned post Master or UPSC’s
“FORMS SUPPLY MONITORING CELL” over Telephone No. 011-23389366/FAX

(c) Candidates are advised to read carefully the Instructions for filling up
the "Online Application Form” given in Appendix-II (A) and Instructions for Offline
Applications given in Appendix II (B) of this notice.
3. LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS :
(a) Online:
The online Applications can be filled up to 21st March, 2011 till 11.59 PM after
which the link will be disabled.
(b) Offline:
All offline applications must reach the “Controller of Examinations, Union Public
Service Commission, Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi - 110069” either
by hand or by Post/Speed Post or by Courier, on or before the
Candidates should note that applications will be received by hand, only one at a
time, at the designated counter(s) and not in bulk, till 5 PM only.

4. PENALTY FOR WRONG ANSWERS:

In case of any guidance/information/clarification regarding their applications,
candidature etc. candidates can contact UPSC’s Facilitation Counter near gate ‘C’ of

23098543 on working days between 10.00 hrs and 17.00 hrs.
6. MOBILE PHONES BANNED:
(a) Mobile phones, pagers or any other communication devices are not allowed
inside the premises where the examination is being conducted. Any infringement of
these instructions shall entail disciplinary action including ban from future examinations.
(b) Candidates are advised in their own interest not to bring any of the banned items
including mobile phones/pagers to the venue of the examination, as arrangement for
safe-keeping cannot be assured.
7. Candidates are advised not to bring any valuable/costly items to the Examination
Halls, as safe-keeping of the same cannot be assured. Commission will not be
responsible for any loss in this regard.

ELIGIBILITY
(A) For admission to First Year Bachelor programme in Engineering/Technology :
Pass or appearing in 2011 in 10+2 examination of CHSE or equivalent, with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects : Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology. Should obtain at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidate belonging to SC/ST category) in the above subjects taken together in the qualifying examination.
Architecture :
Pass or appearing in 2011 in 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects Chemistry / Engineering Drawing / Computer Science / Biology. Should obtain at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidate belonging to SC/ST category) in the above subjects taken together in the qualifying examination.
The aforesaid admission to B.Arch. degree course is subject to passingNATA conducted by the council of architecture and the minimum passing score for NATA is 80 out of 200 (i.e., 40%) for all categories of candidates. NATA shall be a prerequisite for admission into B.Arch course, but the ranking shall be on the basis of OJEE ranking and admission to the course is based on the OJEE rank.
Pass or appearing in 2011 in 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects Chemistry / Engineering Drawing / Computer Science / Biology. MBBS/BDS :
Pass in 10+2 or appearing in 2011 examination of CHSE, Orissa or equivalent, with Physics, Chemistry & Biology (Botany and Zoology) with at least 50% marks in aggregate (Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together) in the qualifying examination for general category candidates and 40% marks in aggregate for SC/ ST candidates. The candidates also have to obtain a minimum of 50% mark in OJEE-2011 examination for general category candidates and 40% marks for SC/ ST candidates.
(B) For admission to First Year Masters programme in
Computer Application (MCA):
Pass or appearing in 2011, for the Bachelor’s Degree examination of minimum three years duration in any discipline from any University of Orissa or equivalent recognised by UGC and having passed in Mathematics at 10+2 level. Business mathematics at +2 level are not permitted. Should obtain at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidate belonging to SC/ST category) in the qualifying examination.
Business Administration (MBA)/ PGDM:
Pass or appearing in 2011, for the Bachelor’s Degree examination of minimum three years duration in any discipline from any University of Orissa or equivalent recognised by UGC. Should obtain at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidate belonging to SC/ST category) in the qualifying examination.
PGCM:
Pass or appearing in 2011, for the Bachelor’s Degree examination of minimum three years duration in any discipline from any University of Orissa or equivalent recognised by UGC.
PGDM (Executive):
Pass or appearing in 2011, for the Bachelor’s Degree examination of minimum three years duration in any discipline from any University of Orissa or equivalent recognised by UGC and 5 years relevant managerial / supervisory experience. Scholarship for Higher Education (SHE)

Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, has invited applications for the ‘Scholarship for Higher Education (SHE)’, a component of the ‘Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE)’ being implemented by the Department.


Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) is a Programme launched by the Government of India and being implemented by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), to strengthen the National Science and Technology base. The INSPIRE Programme includes three components namely Scheme for Early Attraction of Talents for Science (SEATS), Scholarships for Higher Education (SHE) and Assured Opportunity for Research Careers (AORC).


The Scheme SHE is focused on attraction of talent to study of Natural/Basic Sciences at the Bachelor and Master’s level. SHE is currently limited to support for educational programmes at B.Sc., B.Sc. (Hons), M.Sc. and Integrated Master’s level courses in Sciences, leading to MSc in any branch of Natural and Basic Sciences namely Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, Earth Sciences and Life Sciences.
A total of 10,000 scholarships are available annually under SHE starting April 2008. The scholarships are limited to those studying courses in Natural/Basic Sciences (B.Sc., B.Sc. (Hons), Integrated M.Sc.) in any one of the recognized institutions in India.

Eligibility criterion for the scholarships are (i) performance in Board examinations within the cut-off threshold (of top 1%) for each State or Central Board examination at the class X and class XII level and/or (ii) performance in any of the specified competitive examinations within stipulated cut off ranks. The eligible applicant must be already enrolled into Degree level education in Natural/Basic Sciences in any of the recognized institutions in India.

(i) Based on Performance in Board Examinations: Applicant should have obtained aggregate marks in the top 1% in the Board Examination at both class X and XII levels. For example, those applying for INSPIRE Scholarship 2008 should have secured marks within the top 1% in Class X in 2006 and Class XII in 2008 in the respective Board Examinations and should have joined a Degree course leading to B.Sc. or B.Sc. (Hons) or Integrated M.Sc. in Natural/Basic Sciences in any institution in India in the year 2008 and returned to study of second year in the academic year 2009-10. Cut-off marks for various board examinations conducted in the years 2006, 2007 and 2008 for class X and corresponding year of 2008, 2009 and 2010 for class XII are listed in Table 1. Candidate securing top 1% marks only in Class XII Board Examination can also submit the application form.
(ii) Based on Performance in Competitive Examinations (specified in Table 2): Performance within the top 10,000 ranks in Joint Entrance Examination of IIT, AIEEE (Engineering) and CBSE Medical and joining Degree level courses in Natural/Basic Sciences in any recognized Indian institution. The candidate may apply with a valid document of these examinations. The scheme in its current format does not include courses in Engineering, Medicine, Technology and other Professional courses.


(iii) Based on Performance in Competitive Examinations (specified in Table 3): Clearance of competitive examinations conducted by institutions listed in Table 3 and all candidates securing admissions and joining Integrated M.Sc/ MS courses in Natural/Basic Sciences conducted by Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER), National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Indian Institutes of Technology, Department of Atomic Energy – Centre for Basic Science (DAE-CBS) and University from the academic years 2008-09, 2009-10 and 2010-11 are eligible. Institutional coverage is being done for this category. Students in this category need not apply.


Value and Type of Support: Eligible candidates will receive annually scholarship @ total value Rs.80,000/- per candidate. The cash value payable to the SHE scholarship holder is Rs.60,000 per annum. All the SHE scholars are to undertake summer time attachment to an active researcher in recognized research centers in the country. A summer time attachment fee of Rs.20,000/- will be paid to the mentoring institution for undertaking summer time project.


Duration of the Support: Selected candidates will be supported for a maximum period of five years starting from 1st year course in B.Sc., B.Sc. (Hons) and Integrated course leading to M.S or M.Sc or the completion of the course, whichever is earlier. Continuation of the scholarship for the selected candidates for subsequent years is based on satisfactory performance of the examinations conducted and certified by the institution imparting education.


Format for Application: Application may be submitted in the prescribed format available at www. inspire-dst.gov.in, written preferably in English & Hindi only along with attested copy of (i) Mark sheets of Class X and Class XII and (ii) Endorsement Certificate from Principal of the College/ Director or Registrar of the Institute or University where the applicant is presently enrolled.


Applications should be sent by Ordinary Post only within 90 days from the date of this advertisement (Notified on 17.01.2011), and shall be addressed to the Director, National Institute of Science, Technology & Development Studies (NISTADS), Dr K S Krishnan Marg , New Delhi – 110012 with the envelope containing the application super scribed ‘Application for INSPIRE Scholarship – 2008, 2009 and 2010’ program.

COMEDK UGET-2011 ENTRANCE EXAMINATION ON 8TH MAY

COMEDK UGET – 2011 Entrance Examination will be conducted on Sunday the 08th May 2011 for the admission to Undergraduate Medical, Dental and Engineering courses in COMEDK Member Institutions. The Entrance Examination will be conducted across the Karnataka State.

AIIMS on 1st June 2011

Applications have been invited  by All India institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi for admission to MBBS Course commencing on 1st August, 2011. Entrance Examination will be held on 01.06.2011 (Wednesday).

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
(i) Candidates who have passed 12th class examination under 10+2 system or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English securing a minimum of 60% marks (50% in case of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates) aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English or whose results of Class-XII are likely to be declared by 7th July, 2011 are eligible to apply.
(ii) The candidate should have attained the age of 17 (seventeen) years as on 31st December, 2011.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
The Prospectus-cum-Application Form costing Rs. 1000/- (Rs.800/- in case of SC/ST candidates) inclusive of examination fee can be obtained in the following manner:
A) On-line Application : Applicants have to visit the website: http://www.aiimsexams.org/ and carefully follow the instructions given therein. The candidate can pay the application fee through a challan form (downloaded from internet while applying on-line) in any branch of State Bank of India. Candidtes have to carry AIIMS copy of challan form at the Entrance Examination along with admit card for handing over the same to the invigilator.
B) Off-line : The Prospectus-cum-Application Form can also be obtained by Speed Post/Registered Post by sending a written request with an account payee Bank Demand Draft of Rs.1050/- (Rs.850/- for SC/ST candidates) in favour of ACCOUNTS OFFICER (EXAMS), AIIMS-MBBS-2011 payable at New Delhi. The Bank Draft should be valid up to July/August 2011.
The address at which Application Form is required should be written clearly in CAPITAL LETTERS with PIN code. The words “REQUEST FOR APPLICATION FORM FOR MBBS ENTRANCE EXAMINATION 2011” should be written on the envelope containing request for application form, and also on top of the request letter. The request must reach the Assistant Controller of Examinations, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Ansari Nagar, New Delhi – 110 608 on or before 10.03.2011.
Prospectus can also be obtained by hand from the Reception Counter of Examination Section, AIIMS against Bank Draft for Rs.1000/- (Rs.800 for SC/ST Candidates) in favour of the ACCOUNTS OFFICER (EXAMS), AIIMS-MBBS-2011 payable at New Delhi.

Certified Analyst Programme at CRISIL

Kochi, Jan 26, 2011 : Applications have been invited by Credit Rating and Information Services of India Ltd. (CRISIL) in association with National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE) for admission to CRISIL Certified Analyst Programme (CCAP) a two year programme to be commenced on June 13, 2011.

Eligibility Criteria:
The minimum requirements for admission to the Programme are:
1. A bachelor's degree with at least 50 per cent marks or the equivalent Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA). This should be an aggregate score for the course. Candidates appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent examination may also apply.
2. The candidate must have taken CAT (Common Admission Test conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management) held in 2010-11 or XAT (Xavier's Admission Test conducted by XLRI, Jamshedpur) held in 2010-11. Candidates who have not appeared/applied for any of these exams will be required to take the CRISIL Aptitude Test.
3. The Programme is open to candidates born on or after January 1, 1984.
